Hormonology or endocrinology is a branch of clinical biology that studies hormonal abnormalities.

Clinical biochemistry or clinical chemistry is the field of medical biology that studies molecules in bodily fluids (blood, cerebrospinal fluid, urine, etc.).

Thrombophilia, or the imbalance of coagulation activators and inhibitors, predisposes the patient to thrombosis.

Haemostasis is the study of the stopping of blood flow when a vessel is damaged. Blood coagulation is one of the 3 phases of haemostasis.

Haematology specifically studies blood cells, which are synthesised in the bone marrow, and play a role in oxygenation, immunity and coagulation.
